A team of researchers from Nanchang University and solar module manufacturer Trina Solar has published results from a series of experiments evaluating the impact of ultraviolet-induced degradation (UVID) on tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) solar modules. The findings, published in the journal Solar Energy, indicate that this technology exhibits metastable resilience under real-world operating conditions, with no measurable impact on energy production.
