EDF Chile Obtains Environmental Approval for Its 557 MW Wayra Hybrid Park
The EDF group has cleared a regulatory milestone in Chile with the approval of the environmental impact study for its Wayra project. This hybrid facility will combine wind, solar and battery storage in the northern part of the country.

The Environmental Assessment Service (SEA) and the Environmental Assessment Commission (Coeva) of the Antofagasta region have approved the environmental impact study for the Parque Eólico Wayra project. Developed by EDF Power Solutions Chile, this hybrid park represents an estimated investment of $623.9 million, according to official data published in the Chilean Official Gazette. The facility will be located in the commune of Taltal, in the northern part of the country.
