Iberdrola Commissions Spain’s Two Largest Battery Storage Systems in Cuenca
Iberdrola España has inaugurated two 60 MWh battery storage systems in Cuenca province. These facilities are part of a broader program of six batteries totaling 173 MW of power output.

Iberdrola España, a subsidiary of the Iberdrola Group in Spain, has commissioned its first large-scale energy storage systems in the country. The Romeral and Olmedilla batteries, located in Alarcón in Cuenca province (Castilla-La Mancha), each feature a storage capacity of 60 MWh and a power output of approximately 30 MW. According to data provided by the company, these facilities could supply electricity to more than 13,000 homes for two hours.
