LGE India has signed two long-term solar power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Hinduja Renewables Energy Private Limited (HREPL) and Sunsure Energy, to source a total of 3.21 crore units of renewable energy. The two 25-year contracts will officially begin in the second quarter of 2026. These commitments bring LGE India's total renewable energy consumption to 50%, according to the company's communication. Comparable deals are being signed globally, such as the 8.6 MWc solar facility inaugurated by Safran Aircraft Engines and GreenYellow.

HREPL to supply from Maharashtra

Under the first agreement, HREPL will deliver 1.61 crore units of clean power annually from its 27.7 MWp photovoltaic plant in Nanded, Maharashtra. This supply will cover 40% of LGE India's Pune facility's energy needs, according to figures provided by the company. The arrangement is also associated with an offset of 0.31 million metric tonnes of CO2 equivalent (CO2e).

Sunsure Energy will deliver 1.6 crore units of renewable electricity from its 82.5 MWp plant in Erach, Uttar Pradesh. This output is said to cover 30% of LGE India's Greater Noida site's energy needs, according to the company's communication. The associated carbon offset would reach 0.30 million metric tonnes of CO2e.

Two solar plants to reach 50% renewable energy

The signing of these two PPAs brings LGE India's total renewable energy share to 50%. The two plants have respective capacities of 27.7 MWp in Nanded (Maharashtra) and 82.5 MWp in Erach (Uttar Pradesh). Both contracts span 25 years and are scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2026. Similar supply agreements are progressing in other Asian markets, as seen with Meralco PowerGen's 85 MW solar delivery to the Luzon grid in the Philippines.
