One year after its launch, LONGi Hydrogen wins a new project: Sinopec Green Hydrogen Demonstration Project. This is the world’s largest renewable hydrogen project, the first Chinese project with a production capacity of over 10,000 tons.

The world’s largest renewable hydrogen project

This project plans to build a 300 MW solar power plant to power electrolysers, supplied by LONGi Hydrogen. The solar park will supply 618 million KWh, allowing the production of 20,000 tons of renewable hydrogen per year.

The total investment for the project is estimated at 3 billion yuan. It is scheduled to be commissioned in June 2023. In addition, it will reduce CO2 emissions by 485,000 tons per year. Thus, this pharaonic project will help China meet its decarbonization objectives.

LONGi Hydrogen can count on the innovative technology

LONGi Hydrogen will supply the equipment necessary for the electrolysis of water, with a 4 to 1 electrolyser system. Thus, they should allow a production of hydrogen reaching 4,000 normo cubic meters per year.

The system designed by LONGi Hydrogen is able to reach the best performances. Moreover, it allows to consume less while being the least cumbersome possible. Thus, the LONGi Hydrogen system contributes to cost reduction. In addition, the equipment is compatible with IGBT power supplies. This makes it perfectly suited to large-scale hydrogen production using renewable energies.

Li Zhenguo, founder and president of LONGi, says the equipment designed by the company is reliable, safe and cost-effective for such hydrogen production. In addition, LONGi Hydrogen wishes to continue to invest in research and development.

The company must build digital and intelligent factories. Thus, the capacity of the LONGi ALK electrolyser should reach 1.5 GW by the end of 2022 and 5 GW by the end of 2025.
