Recharge Power, the system-level energy storage subsidiary of J&V Energy Technology (TWSE: 6869), has secured a new energy storage equipment order in Japan with a total capacity of 20 MW / 80 MWh. The project owner is 光陽エネルギー株式会社, a Japanese energy storage asset investor. Equipment delivery is scheduled to begin in phases starting July 2026. The deal comes as support frameworks for large-scale photovoltaic installations coupled with storage continue to evolve across major energy markets.
Joint Execution with Japanese Subsidiary REENS
The project will be jointly executed by Recharge Power and REENS, its Japan-based subsidiary. The company highlights its system integration expertise and local deployment capabilities as key advantages for ensuring grid connection. Recharge Power says it currently operates five energy storage sites in Japan, each with a capacity of 2 MW / 8 MWh, progressively connected to the grid. Two of these sites have reportedly completed capability testing and entered the electricity trading market.
From March 17 to 19, 2026, Recharge Power and REENS participated for the second time in World Smart Energy Week in Japan, described as Asia's largest comprehensive exhibition for smart energy and renewable energy. The delegation was led by Spencer Feng, Chief Executive Officer of Recharge Power, alongside Shu-Min Chao, General Manager of J&V Energy Technology, and Kai Tan, Vice General Manager of the same company. The company showcased its deployment achievements across the Tohoku, Chubu, and Kyushu power service areas in Japan, as well as representative projects in Taiwan. It also presented high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage (UHV) energy storage system models.
262 MW Pipeline Targeted by 2027
Recharge Power says it expects to bring an additional 38 MW / 152 MWh of energy storage capacity online in Japan this year. In collaboration with Japanese partner GREEN ENERGY, the company plans to develop 20 high-voltage and 2 ultra-high-voltage energy storage projects by 2027, targeting a total project pipeline of 262 MW in Japan. The company also highlighted its capabilities in system integration, engineering execution, and proprietary energy management system (EMS) development.
