National Disaster Plan

Description

Namibia's National Disaster Plan clarifies the roles and responsibilities of several, important government and non-governmental actors with regard to disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. It appoints the national Emergency Management Unit to have fully authority in coordinating all disaster preparedness and response activities. It outlines the core features of Namibia's disaster planning, which include vulnerability assessments, data collection and research, public education, and training. It also establishes the standard operating procedures for disaster response and gives guidelines on setting up an early warning system and conducting post-disaster reviews.
