Timor Leste's stimulus plan aims to enable the country to get out of the economic crisis induced by the COVID-19 pandemic. It sets wide-ranging measures over the short, medium and long terms.<br><br>The plan notably proposes the foundation of a national carbon certification scheme, noting that in the forestry sector, significant progress is possible in the short term with existing stock, along with annual income from selling carbon credits. It also calls for a promotion of renewable energy resources, and for the good management of agriculture which crucial for protecting the environment, biodiversity, water resources and fighting fires.
