Voltalia has published its annual results for the year 2022. Despite a 31% increase in revenues to 469 million euros, the company incurred a net loss of 7.2 million euros due to the sale of power plants and unfavorable weather.

The group, which recently joined the SBF 120, recorded stable EBITDA thanks to the commissioning of new production sites, which offset the loss of two Brazilian power plants sold at the end of 2021 and a decline in wind resources due to unfavorable weather.

Although Voltalia struggled in 2022, the company also had a record number of commissioning and construction starts, reaching 1,571 MW and 1,022 MW under construction, respectively. Moreover, in a context of energy crisis favorable to renewable energies, Voltalia has tripled the volume of its new long-term electricity sales contracts.

300 million in 2023, with significant visibility thanks to the contracts already signed.

Although Voltalia’s financial performance in 2022 was affected by the sale of power plants and unfavorable weather, the company continues to grow with an ambitious goal for the coming year. In a favorable context for renewable energies, Voltalia seems to be in a position to continue its growth and to remain a leader in the renewable energy sector.
