Statera Energy secures approval for 500 MW battery storage project in the United Kingdom
British company Statera Energy has obtained approval for its Sundon Storage project. This 500 MW battery storage system, capable of providing at least eight hours of energy, brings the company’s consented portfolio to over 5 GW.

Central Bedfordshire’s planning committee has approved the Sundon Storage project developed by Statera Energy. This 500 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will be located southwest of the existing National Grid substation at Sundon. According to data provided by the company, the site could power the equivalent of 540,000 homes once operational.
