Rosatom Targets Start-Up of Four Nuclear Reactors Abroad in 2026
The Russian nuclear conglomerate plans commissioning in Bangladesh, Turkey and China this year, despite Western sanctions that froze $2 billion in investments on the Turkish Akkuyu project.

Rosatom aims to start up four nuclear reactors outside Russia in 2026. In an interview with the Rossiya 24 channel, Alexei Likhachev, Director General of the Russian state corporation, discussed the Rooppur plant in Bangladesh, Akkuyu in Turkey, as well as unit 7 at Tianwan and unit 3 at Xudabao in China. According to him, 2025 targets were exceeded despite the difficulties encountered.
