European Union Allocates €270.6 Million to Six Renewable Hydrogen Projects via Innovation Fund
Six winning projects from the 2024 European Innovation Fund auction have signed their grant agreements. Located in Spain, Finland and Norway, they will total 381.25 MW of electrolyser capacity.

The European Union’s Innovation Fund has finalized the allocation of €270.6 million to six renewable hydrogen production projects. These grants, sourced from EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) revenues, fall under the domestic pillar of the European Hydrogen Bank. Two projects, awarded more than €35 million, will specifically supply the maritime sector with renewable hydrogen.
